Brazilian Bred Pico Central gained his third Grade One win of the year, all in New York. Pico captured The Carter Handicap at Aqueduct in April at seven furlongs and The Metropolitan Handicap in May at a mile. In the Vosburgh, run at six furlongs, Pico was close behind favorite Speightstown at the start but drew clear early and crossed the line in 1:09.74 with a four length margin over longshot Voodoo. Next start for Pico might be the Cigar Mile and Speightstown appears to be headed to Lone Star for the Breeders' Cup.
