James Scatuorchio's English Channel avenged last year's head loss to Shakespeare by taking the lead from stable mate Icy Atlantic at the turn and registering a four length victory under John Velazquez. With Grade I wins in The Turf Classic at Churchill on Derby Day and The United Nations Handicap at Monmouth Park in July, the four-year-old Smart Strike colt ranks at the top of the turf division with Cacique. Look for him to run in The Breeders' Cup Turf at a  mile and a half at Churchill.
