With Grade 1 wins in The Secretariat and Virginia Derby in his last two starts, Kitten's Joy faced older horses for the first time in The Joe Hirsch Turf Classic. The result was a convincing two and a half length victory over favorite Magistretti. The win  brought the colt's winning earnings over the million dollar mark and allows him to head to the Breeders' Cup with a three race win streak.
