Pat Day wins his fourth Travers on Ten Most Wanted

The Travers Stakes

The fact that the two Triple Crown winners didn't make it to the starting gate didn't stop a record Travers Day crowd of 66,122 from turning out under perfect weather conditions to view the 134th running of this historic race. Winner Ten Most Wanted stalked the suicide pace set by front runners Strong Hope and Peace Rules then moved to the lead at the top of the stretch and went on to a four length win. The win was the fourth Travers victory for jockey Pat Day.

The Ballerina Stakes

The Allen Jerkens trained Shine Again went to post for Sunday's Ballerina Stakes seeking to win this race for the third straight year. In another exciting stakes finish she came up just a nose short of accomplishing this goal. Todd Pletcher's Harmony Lodge, the longest shot in the field, held off the favorite to gain the nose win. Richard Migliore was in the saddle for the close win.
