The FourstardaveNothing To Lose and Silver Tree both came from behind a wall of horses at the turn (pictured on top) but it was Nothing To Lose and John Velazquez who reached the line first. Nothing To Lose is owned by Kenneth Ramsey and trained by Bobby Frankel who gained his first graded stakes win of the meet with this win. |

The King's Bishop StakesMichael Tabor's Pomeroy turned the tables on Bwana Charlie, avenging his loss in The Amsterdam Stakes and setting a stakes record of 1:20 4/5. The three-year-old Boundary colt took off blinkers and the equipment change seems to have helped. Pomeroy is trained by Patrick Biancone. |

The Travers StakesI have been photographing races for 15 years and the conditions for this year's Travers Stakes were the most surreal I have ever dealt with, from the clear skies of The Fourstardave to the near night conditions at post time of The Travers an hour later. Out of the darkness and flashes of lightning Marylou Whitney's Birdstone and Edgar Prado emerged into the light at the finish line. With The Belmont Stakes and The Travers under his belt Birdstone will now train up to The Breeders' Cup. |
