Heavy favorite Milky Way Guy crossed the finish line first, but the win in the Smith memorial was awarded to D & J Howes' Final Prophecy. As they headed for home Milky Way Guy  drifted in as Final Prophecy came up the rail. Final Prophecy was ridden by Vernon Bush.

The Sunset Gun Stakes

On Monday, Labor Day, Mass Breds had a great day. Sunlit Ridge started the day with a win in the Sunset Gun Stakes for Mass Bred fillies on the Turf. Off at 2 to 5, and ridden by Dyn Panell, Sunlit Ridge held off Ask Queenie and Deerwood Lass for the win.

The Topsider Stakes

Mass Breds and Dyn Panell continued their Labor Day domination with a thrilling three horse finish in The Topsider. Catching front running Beat The Traffic and then holding off the late run of On The Game, Senior Ladd managed to have his nose in front at the line in a swift 1:11.2. Senior Ladd is owned by Carlee Thoroughbred LLC and is trained by John Rigattieri.
