Breeders' Cup Sprint winner Silver Train returned to
the Belmont Winner's Circle in an exciting renewal of the historic Met
Mile. A stellar field included Bandini, BC Juvenile winner Wilko and
Commonwealth BC winner Sun King. With the finish line approaching, Sun
King was closing with every step. At the wire the bob of the head gave
the hard fought win to Silver Train in a time of 1:34.27. The
four-year-old bay Old Trieste colt ran his winnings to over a million
dollars with his fifth win in fourteen lifetime starts. Jockey Edgar
Prado collected three wins on the day.
