The gutsy gelding is always there. A head away from a Mass Cap
victory, a neck and a nose away from a win in The Suburban. The racing
gods smiled on Funny Cide in The Jockey Club Gold Cup. It looked as
though he was starting to back up at the turn, but Funny Cide unleashed
a powerful stretch drive to capture his first grade one win since last
year's Preakness and ensure his participation in the Breeders' Cup. With
Jose Santos back in the saddle Funny Cide completed the mile and a
quarter in 2:02.44
