Fernando Jara and Jazil win The 138th Belmont Stakes

Eighteen-year-old Fernando Jara had a troubled start when he lost his stirrup at the start of the 138th Belmont. After quickly reaching down and slipping his boot back in, Fernando began his last to first journey to the Belmont Stakes finish line. At the top of the stretch Jazil and Fernando rocketed past Bluegrass Cat and took command down the stretch to earn the blanket of white carnations in a time of 2:27.86. Jazil is trained by Kiaran McLaughlin and is owned by Shadwell Stable
